“From my first yoga class I knew I had to become a teacher. I instantly fell in love with the practice. It was another way for me to fulfill my life. Even though I already loved yoga I had no idea how much until I went through yoga teacher training. I can honestly say it was one of the best and most profound experiences of my life. I will never forget the talks, the growth, the bonding, the letting go, the healing, the surrendering and so much more. It truly evolved me, making me become more than I could have possibly imagined. I wish the same for anyone who goes through YTT. I cannot wait to share with you the transformative experience of Yoga Teacher Training!” ~ Gwyn
Teacher Training for those who don’t want to teach:
Teacher training is not just for those who want to teach. The program is for anyone who wants to immerse themselves in the practice of yoga. It is a great way to deepen your practice and make it a way of living rather than something you do once or twice a week. It will evolve a home practice as well as awakening an understanding of the self.
Why Our Teacher Training Programs:
Lavender Koi Yoga opened its doors to transform lives by teaching those to realize their full potential on and off their mats and awakening the soul. We not only teach this way of life, we live it. Yoga is the pathway to liberation. Sharing this knowledge and then sending fully realized teachers out into the world to spread their mastery is our work. As an award-winning yoga studio we will teach nothing less than excellence.

What Is Required Of You And What Is Included In The Program?
First you must fill out and application. All applications must be submitted by Nov. 1st. Once Gwyn has reviewed your application she will reach out to schedule a sit down to discuss your role in the program. Every teacher must try to make each day of training. We do understand though that life happens and if something comes up and you are not able to make a weekend or day Gwyn will work with you to catch you up on what you missed.
Traditionally these types of programs promote the narrative that there will be no hand holding, not the case here. Gwyn will hold your hand, your heart, and your mind with the utmost respect and care. She has to, if she does not know your inner workings how can she provide the best path forward for you? This program is intense and like no other in the sense that it will be carried out as an ashram with time-honored relationships with teacher and student. Throughout the program there will be individual one on one check-ins with Gwyn where the student will eventually receive a personal Koan. A Koan is a paradoxical question, story or statement used to challenge normal thought patterns and facilitate enlightenment. Koans are not meant to be solved logically but rather to be meditated on, prompting one to go beyond rational understanding and to grasp deeper truths. The individual will receive their Koan when it is presented to Gwyn.

As was mentioned, this curriculum is like no other, here in the states. It will be executed in the most Eastern established way, blending customary Yoga, Hinduism (Sanatana Dharma), Mahayana Buddhism, and Zen Buddhism. These traditions will be learned, practiced and exercised in relation with Americanism. Every class will begin with Mindfulness Meditation, then we will discuss the Dharma and the teachings of yoga, individual asana practice overseen by Gwyn, break for lunch, return for highlighted curriculum group teachings.

Part of our syllabus studies will be having a professional Sanskrit teacher, to learn proper Sanskrit. Our English language does not require the use of some areas of our mouth, throat and tongue. Without education and practice around this sacred language, you can probably guarantee you are not pronouncing these beautiful words correctly.

Also part of our program there will be field trips to temples, and meditation halls. Special guests including and not limited too; Zen Monks, and Hindu Gurus

You will receive unlimited classes at the studio for the duration of the program, receive binders and worksheets for the full 300 hours that are yours to keep, a mentorship with Gwyn, a graduation certificate, and an advanced lifelong practice to share with others or keep to yourself.
